Electronics giant LG yesterday showed off its first 5G smartphone dubbed V50 ThinQ right before the MWC19 event in Barcelona. The company had already released its features and specs in January.
LG V50 ThinQ joins the list of the first-few 5G-capable smartphones along with Samsung’s Galaxy S10 5G and a 5G smartphone by OnePlus.
LG’s latest smartphone, which weighs 183 grams and measures 8.3 millimeter in thickness, comes with more detailed and enhanced display, audio and processing power to facilitate content-rich 5G apps with higher bandwidth. The device flaunts a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. As stated by LG, the enhanced display has been included to offer a “heightened sense of immersion” for playing games and watching videos.
Dual screen accessory
The device also features a Dual Screen accessory which, when opened, looks like a cellphone case and becomes a robust second 6.2-inch OLED display.
Users can deploy the second screen independently for running multiple applications simultaneously. When running games on your device, the second screen can be used as a dedicated controller.
To prevent stress on your eye, the display also flaunts an AI-based engine that automatically adjusts brightness and color according to changing light quality.
The V50 comes with superior audio quality powered by smart DTS:X technology that provides surround sound experiences while Qualcomm aptX HD and aptX technology offers enhanced audio quality in earbuds or earphones.
As already announced while releasing the specs of V50 ThinQ, the device runs on Snapdragon X50 5G modem and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform. The battery (4,000mAh is 20 percent larger as compared to V40 ThinQ. Another startling highlight of V50 ThinQ is an advanced heat-dissipation system that keeps your device cool and streamlines device performance when running multiple apps.
Though the price and availability of the device are yet to be rolled out, it will be interesting to see how strong the V50 ThinQ stands in front of other 5G devices, particularly the one released by Samsung.
