Samsung Galaxy S10 5G’s price cracked before its South Korea roll out

Samsung Galaxy S10’s 5G variant is all in readiness for its scheduled roll out in the South Korean market on April 5, 2019. Recent reports released by a leading news outlet in South Korea claims to have cracked the pricing details of this frontline 5G smartphone. It is expected to be pegged at around US$1285.

Samsung is set to roll out a 5G edition of its flagship smartphone this year. The handset is quite similar to the normal S10+; save for a larger battery and an added rear camera module. The 5G version also supports the mmWave and sub-6GHz mobile data connectivity standards.

Two SKUs of the 5G variant will be soon rolled out in the South Korean market: an 8GB/512GB and an 8GB/256GB storage option.

The earlier version of S10+ will be sold at just over 1.39mn won (or roughly around US$1285), while the latter will (evidently) be the most expensive variant at 1.55mn won (or about US$1363).

These may look like considerably overpriced, even in the age of ultra-expensive Samsung smartphones and tablets. However, the most robust high-end 12GB version of the non-5G Galaxy S10+ can cost you around US$1599.

Moreover, these new versions of the iconic S10+ apparently come in their own exclusive colors, i.e. Majestic Black, Crown Silver, and Royal Gold for the 512GB storage models, while its 256GB counterpart will also be available in Crown Silver.

Meanwhile, Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg has announced that Samsung’s Galaxy S10 5G will be coming first to his 5G network in the US.
